The Science Behind CO2 Engraving Machines

The laser of CO2 engraving machine is transmitted and focused on the surface of the material through the optical mechanism, and the high energy density of the laser focused on a point of the material will vaporize rapidly. When the computer reads the information from it in order, the laser head will scan back and forth from left to right and from top to bottom along the scanning track. Whenever a "1" is scanned, the laser will turn on, and when a "0" is scanned, the laser will automatically turn off. Computer information is stored in binary, which is consistent with the two states of the laser switch. The use of laser engraving machine is applicable to the marking of most non-metallic materials, such as label paper, paper packaging, glass ceramics, resin plastic, bamboo and wood products, plastic products, leather fabrics, PCB boards, etc.

CO2 laser marking machine uses infrared band, 10640nm gas laser, CO2 gas is charged into the high pressure discharge tube to produce glow discharge, the gas molecules release laser light, after expanding the laser energy, the formation of material processing laser beam, the laser beam makes the processing body surface vaporization, to achieve the purpose of engraving.
